TampereRaw Messiaen Quartet

Anna Angervo, violin; Maija Juuti, cello; Janne Pesonen, clarinet; Ville Hautakangas, piano

TampereRaw was founded in 2001 to fulfill the need of some of the musicians in the Tampere Philharmonic to create a forum for performing new concert music in Tampere. Throughout its existence, TampereRaw’s guiding idea has been to bring together musicians with an open-minded approach to modern music and to perform concert programmes consisting of new music.

TampereRaw performs regularly in Tampere and the ensemble has also been heard in concerts at various festivals in Finland and Estonia. The ensemble has collaborated extensively with several Finnish composers and strives to regularly include premieres and commissioned works in their repertoire. In recent years, TampereRaw has collaborated with artists from other art forms.
